For those of you that are fans of the movie Crazy Rich Asians, you'll be happy to know that much of it was actually filmed in Malaysia and two of the main actors are Malaysian (Michelle Yeow and Henry Golding). We've had fun finding some of the filming sites (my photos on the left or top and movie clips on the right or bottom).

The mahjong scene took place in the Blue Mansion of Penang.

The opening scene where the mother buys the hotel in London is actually the Eastern and Oriental Hotel in Penang.

The Young's family home set is the Carcosa Seri Negara mansion in Kuala Lumpur.

The jewelry store where Astrid buys earrings is actually the Astor Bar in the St. Regis Hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

There is another house in Kuala Lumpur on a hill that is used that we haven't seen yet. And the island used for the bachelorette party is nearby Langkawi island where we haven't been just yet either.

Of course there are many scenes filmed in Singapore where the story takes place as well. For example...

Changi airport:

Newton Food Court:

Raffles Hotel:

Goh mansion:

Chijmes church for Collin and Araminta's wedding:

Gardens by the Bay for the wedding reception

Marina Bay Sands and pool for the engagement party
